Huawei's Pura 90 Plus goes on sale in China from CNY 5,199 after launch discount
Huawei's Pura 90 Plus went on sale in China at 10:08 on 31 October, with a launch discount cutting the entry 12GB+256GB model to CNY 5,199 from CNY 5,499. It is the first phone to use the Kirin 9025 chip.

Sales begin with CNY 300 discount
Open sales across Chinese retailers started at 10:08 on 31 October, three days after Huawei unveiled the phone on 28 October at its Double 11 all-scenario new product launch event. Huawei is offering a launch discount of up to CNY 300 from 28 October to 30 November, cutting the entry 12GB+256GB model to CNY 5,199 from CNY 5,499. The discount is about 5.5% off the entry list price.
Jam Online and GSMArena place the Pura 90 Plus between the Pura 90 and the Pura 90 Pro in Huawei's lineup. It is the only phone in the family with a curved metal frame, Gizchina reports.
Three storage tiers, one RAM listing
Huawei lists three storage tiers in China: 12GB+256GB at CNY 5,499, 12GB+512GB at CNY 5,999 and 12GB+1TB at CNY 6,999. The 512GB model costs CNY 500 more than the entry model, and the 1TB model costs CNY 1,500 more, a premium of about 27%. Gizchina lists 16GB for the 1TB model, while Huawei Central and GSMArena list 12GB across all three storage tiers.
Kirin 9025 and performance claims
The Pura 90 Plus is the first phone to use Huawei's Kirin 9025 chip. Huawei says the new hardware and software together deliver a 19% overall performance improvement over the previous generation. Huawei Central and GSMArena report the chip claim as up to 20% over the Kirin 9020 used in the Pura 80 series. The 19% and 20% figures describe the same comparison with the previous generation.
GSMArena describes the Kirin 9025 as an overhauled version of the Kirin 9020. A separate tipster claimed the new chip matches the Kirin 9030S in the Pura 90 Pro and Pura 90 Pro Max, a claim TechJuice said would need independent benchmarks to verify. Techgenyz notes that Huawei's performance figures have not been independently verified.
Screen, cameras and battery
The phone has a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED screen with 2,848 x 1,276 resolution and an adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. Second-generation Kunlun Glass covers the display. Techgenyz notes that the 120Hz figure refers to refresh rate, not touch sampling.
The main camera is a 50MP 1-inch type sensor with a variable aperture and optical image stabilisation. A 48MP telephoto camera supports 4x optical zoom and doubles as a macro lens, and a 40MP ultrawide sits beside it. The front camera is 13MP. Huawei Central says the camera uses the XMAGE algorithm and offers up to 100x digital zoom.
The battery is 5,700mAh with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. Gizchina and Jam Online report two-way satellite messaging. The phone comes in Obsidian Black, Snow White, Sunset Purple and Dawn Gold.
HarmonyOS 7 and availability
The phone runs HarmonyOS 7, which Huawei released in September 2026 with the Mate XT 2. The software includes Huawei's Celia assistant with agentic skills and language-model knowledge, Huawei Central reports. Huawei says Super Storage can free up to 110GB on the 1TB model.
The launch discount ends on 30 November. Huawei has not announced a global release, though Jam Online expects international details in the coming months. Techgenyz says Indian availability and pricing remain unconfirmed.
