Apple raises Apple TV to $14.99 a month and the annual plan to $119
Apple raised the price of Apple TV to $14.99 a month from $12.99 on 28 August 2026, and the annual plan to $119 from $99, the second increase in twelve months for the ad-free service.

New subscribers began paying the higher rates that day. Apple said existing subscribers will be told about a month before their subscription renews at the new price. The Apple One Individual bundle, which adds Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+, Apple News+ and iCloud+ to the streaming service, rose to $21.95 a month from $19.95. The Family and Premier tiers did not change in this round; Apple raised those a month earlier alongside Apple Music.
The annual plan is now the cheaper route. At $119 it works out at about $9.92 a month, against $14.99 on the monthly plan. Twelve months at the monthly rate costs $179.88, so paying up front saves more than $60 a year. The annual price rose 20 percent, while the monthly price rose by $2.
Second increase in a year
Apple last raised the price in August 2025, when the monthly plan went from $9.99 to $12.99 and the annual plan stayed at $99. Before that it lifted monthly prices in 2022 and 2023. The service launched in November 2019 as Apple TV+ at $4.99 a month, so $14.99 is roughly three times the launch price.
Apple TV still undercuts the ad-free entry plans at Netflix, at $20 a month, and Disney+, at $19, Ars Technica reported. It sells a single ad-free tier, while Netflix, Disney+ and Peacock all offer cheaper ad-supported plans. Its library is smaller than theirs.
The increase landed in the same fortnight as Peacock's, with ESPN following, Business Insider reported. Late summer and early autumn are a common window for streaming price changes because the fall sports season starts and network shows return. Netflix and Paramount Plus raised prices earlier in the year.
Sport and originals in the standard price
Apple announced a deal last October to become the exclusive Formula 1 broadcaster in the US, and coverage began with the Australian Grand Prix in March 2026 under a five-year agreement. Races are included in the standard subscription at no extra cost. MLS matches moved the same way after Apple dropped the separate MLS Season Pass and folded coverage into Apple TV from the 2026 season. Friday Night Baseball is in the same package, alongside originals such as Ted Lasso, Severance and Pluribus. Subscribers can share the service with up to five family members, and new customers still get a seven-day free trial.
The bundle and what happens next
The Apple TV and Peacock bundle is the one figure the accounts disagree on. Business Insider reported that the bundle was unchanged at $14.99 with Peacock Premium and $19.99 with Premium Plus, and calculated that bundling saved more than 40 percent against buying both separately. CNET's tracker lists the same two bundles at $18 and $23. Neither Apple nor Peacock has said which applies.
For existing subscribers, the next step is the renewal notice Apple says it will send about a month before the new rate applies. After that the choice is $14.99 a month or $119 up front.
