Netflix secures all 104 matches of the 2030 World Cup in Spain and Andorra
Netflix will show all 104 matches of the 2030 World Cup in Spain and Andorra under an exclusive FIFA deal announced on October 13, with one match per matchday free in Spain.

Netflix will stream all 104 matches of the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra under an exclusive deal with FIFA, the company said. Financial terms were not disclosed, and Netflix has not named the free-to-air broadcaster that would carry a separate package of matches.
What the deal covers
The agreement covers the centenary edition, co-hosted by Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Spain enters as defending champion after winning the 2026 World Cup. The 48-team field produces 104 matches. One match per matchday will be free in Spain. A package with every Spain match, both semi-finals and the final will be offered to a national free-to-air broadcaster.
Netflix plans pre-match, half-time and post-match shows with a Spanish perspective, a daily highlights programme on matchdays and build-up content before the tournament. The company said further details on the free-to-air partnership would come closer to the tournament.
Andorra is covered by the streaming rights. No free-to-air arrangement there has been published.
Why free TV still matters
Spain's free-to-air provision reflects Spanish law, which requires certain major events, including national team matches and the World Cup final, to remain available without a subscription, Heavy reported. That limits how far FIFA and Netflix can put the host nation's biggest games behind a paywall.
Spain's public broadcaster TVE carried the national team's matches during the 2026 World Cup, Reuters reported. TVE declined to comment on whether it wants the 2030 package. FIFA has traditionally awarded World Cup rights to public broadcasters to maximise reach, Livemint reported.
The price and the precedent
Neither Netflix nor FIFA has disclosed what the deal is worth. The agreement is Netflix's first major men's World Cup rights deal. It already holds US and Canadian rights to the 2027 and 2031 Women's World Cups, its first purchase of rights to a complete competition. That FIFA contract was signed in 2024.
"Few events unite people like the World Cup," Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria said in a statement. "With Spain set to host in 2030, we're thrilled to bring every match to fans across Spain and Andorra on Netflix."
Netflix's earlier football move was more modest. It made an offer for Champions League streaming packages that failed to reach the second round of bidding in the five biggest European markets, the Guardian reported. Paramount+ and Amazon bought the rights in the UK, Italy and Germany.
What happens next
The venue for the final is unresolved. Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu and the 115,000-seat King Hassan II Stadium under construction near Casablanca are in contention. FIFA has not said which will host. The choice has political weight in Spain and Morocco, and FIFA president Gianni Infantino has close ties to Moroccan soccer.
FIFA's proposed schedule puts centenary matches in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay on June 8-9. The opening games fall on June 13-14 and the final on July 21.
FIFA is expected to confirm the hosts of the 2031 Women's World Cup next month.
