AI chip startups keep raising as Agrani Labs seeks $108-110 million
Agrani Labs is in the final stages of closing a $108-110 million round at a valuation of around $350 million, The Economic Times reported on 3 November.

Agrani Labs seeks $108-110 million
Peak XV Partners is leading Agrani Labs' $108-110 million round, with more than half expected from the firm.
More money for inference and custom silicon gives cloud buyers and device makers more alternatives to Nvidia. The startups still have to turn designs into volume shipments and signed customers. AI Funding Tracker notes that investors watch for customer contracts and a public-market path. People the paper spoke to also expect Google, HCL Tech, Samsung Ventures and Stargazer to join. Stargazer is the investment vehicle linked to Groww's founders. The round has been in the works for several months. It is expected to close over the next month.
That is well below the $500 million-plus rounds seven startups landed in 2026.
At around $350 million, Agrani's reported valuation is a fraction of FuriosaAI's $2.9 billion or Tenstorrent's $6.2 billion.
FuriosaAI and Tenstorrent show the step-up
FuriosaAI closed a $620 million Series D at a $2.9 billion post-money valuation. That is nearly four times the $735 million reported after its July 2025 Series C bridge. South Korea's National Growth Fund put in KRW370 billion, about $280 million, making it the largest investor in the round. Tenstorrent raised a $1.5 billion Series E on 19 October 2026 at a $6.2 billion valuation. That is about double the $2.6 billion mark from its late-2024 round. Seven private AI chip startups raised $500 million or more in a single round during 2026, according to AI Funding Tracker.
FuriosaAI's RNGD chip went into mass production in January 2026. The company plans to produce 20,000 RNGD accelerators in 2026.
The wider funding base
Investors put about $10.7 billion into semiconductor startups from seed to pre-IPO rounds through 10 June 2026. AI Funding Tracker cites Crunchbase data for the figure. That put the year on track to pass 2025. The second quarter alone added more than $6 billion across 80 chip startups, and 18 of those companies raised $100 million or more, Semiconductor Engineering reported. Nano-core Chip announced on 28 October that it raised more than RMB 1 billion in Series C2 funding, with JianTou Investment as lead investor. The round followed a RMB 1 billion Series C1 round in September. Nova Spectral AI raised Rs 21.15 crore, about $2.25 million, in a round Shastra VC led, to build short-wave infrared image sensor chips.
Exits and incumbents
Cerebras Systems priced its IPO at $185 per share on 13 May 2026, $25 above the top of its marketing range. It sold 30 million shares and raised $5.55 billion. The pricing valued Cerebras at $39.82 billion. The company recorded $510 million in revenue and $237.8 million in net income for 2025, according to its filing.
Nvidia sits on both sides of the market. On 24 December 2025 it agreed to pay $20 billion to license Groq's inference technology. It would also hire most of Groq's staff, including co-founder and CEO Jonathan Ross.
It also backed Ayar Labs' $500 million Series E, SiFive's $400 million Series G and Upscale AI's $190 million round in 2026.
What happens next
Agrani Labs expects its round to close over the next month.
Nano-core Chip said its first three chips had completed tape-out. It plans customer sampling and initial volume shipments for early 2027. FuriosaAI plans to more than double its 2026 output in 2027.
